I have spent all day trying to find a vet that can see him tomorrow.
Every place I called that is supposed to have an exotics specialist doesn't anymore! I have contact with a rabbit rescue that is giving information on care until he's seen Friday.
BTW, mange is the resulting condition of mites. So, yeah, he does have mange. But I am in touch with experts and so far I haven't done anything that would make him worse. Thanks to my kid, Jace, for his help and discount!
Not much has been raised for the vet. I'm sorry to keep asking but the rescue can't absorb this when we're running low on cat food and have cats that will need to see the vet. If you can't help it's OK! I get it! I don't want anyone to feel bad and I'm not trying to place a guilt trip out there. Just stating the facts. And as there are no bunny fosters available he IS in this rescue. If you save a life you should be responsible for it. This is on me.
The plan is to treat the mites first. I do have an appointment with my vet on Monday so if he needs eye surgery it will be done there. But that's days away. For now I just hope he's comfortable. I check him every 30 minutes.
Please help if you can.
