I went to visit Negan after my mom.
Mostly to get an idea of his demeanor. You can see by the pictures!
Now the interesting part. His back legs are stiff. If it was actual paralysis they would be limp and floppy. Also, he can wag his tail around! Dr Floyd thinks he just might have tetanus!
That is a simple treatment of 2 different antibiotics. So I really hope it's that simple!
The giant ulcer on his pad could have been the source, too. Dr isn't sure if the ulcer is from injury or pododermatitis. Either way, he's starting the antibiotics along with steroids. If his abnormal spots on his spine are discospondylitis the steroids will help.
I did order diapers, medical stretch tape and a generic Assisi loop like what I used for Grammy. I'm learning to express his bladder. Harder than you think! He will stay at the vet until tomorrow though. Coconut oil is coming for Victor but I can use that on Negan, too, because he's got pretty severe urine scald.
He's very skinny and boney but has been eating good. He is anemic but his white cells are OK. He's also negative for FeLv and FIV. He really does have a chance!
Anything you can do to help during this crisis helps! Even food donations! I have no idea how much his bill will be.
PayPal or Zelle info@tuxieslegacy.org or direct donations to SugarLand Pet Hospital, 281-491-5533, account 7212.
I still need to take little Hazel to start vetting! She's doing great, too.
Be pawsome! Do pawsome! This is the way.
