Gia is doing well this morning!
He's still a bit off but his breathing is "normal" for him. I really think he suffered a massive and deadly asthma attack, accelerated by lung disease (or congenital defect). So for now he remains on lockdown in my room in his shirt.
I'm looking into an oxygen concentrator. It's expensive! But in the long run it's cheaper than buying oxygen. I think oxygen therapy 2-3 times a week would help. I know NOTHING about them so if you have any experience or knowledge about them please message the page!
As for nebulizers, we have 3!
There are a lot of new friends on here so I'm giving a brief rundown of Gia's history.
Gia was found on the street at 3 weeks old very sick. He crashed 4 times before his left lung was completely removed at 5 months old. The lung had never inflated at birth. He began showing signs of asthma at around a year old and has been on Flovent and Albuterol since.
He has flare ups that require prednisolone and Veraflox. Other than that he's been a normal goblin until last Wednesday night.
This ER stay cost $2,200ish. I have to pull up the e-receipts to post. They didn't give me an itemized statement so I'm requesting one today.
I have asked and asked for help. It makes me feel horrible but this is how it is in rescue and the attempts I make to save the hardcore cases. I don't know what's next around the corner but I do want to raise funds for an oxygen concentrator. They run between $200-$700! As I said, I know nothing about them so if you do please let me know!
Please, also remember that I'm treating another FIP kitten on top of having Markus in observation for FIP. His labs are on Tuesday and I'm praying for good results! He's been doing great so far! Little Mickey is showing improvement as well and is still so good with shots!
