Let me highlight these special ones! I begin with the most recent.
FIP. You've heard it here for over a year. If you have cats please educate yourself about this horrible disease. It used to be 100% fatal but there is a treatment/cure now and here is proof.
Almost every cat has been exposed to feline coronavirus. About 5-8% of cats are genetically predispositioned for that virus to mutate into FIP. Stress seems to be the main reason for mutation. Shots, spay/neuter, sickness, and even rehoming (let that sink in) can be enough to set it off. FIP, itself, is NOT contagious!
