Several people have shared this with me.
I saw it within an hour of it being posted. While this is great news my concern is that the price will be higher than buying "black market". When big pharma is involved there's always a desire for big profit.
I have watched people lose their cats because they can't afford treatment so I do hope that that legal meds will be made affordable!
Also, a certain celebrity cat person recommends that you have cats get a PCR test done to see if they have been exposed to feline coronavirus. Most every cat that is rescued or been outside has been exposed! There is NO test that can determine if a cat will mutate the coronavirus. If you suspect that your cat has FIP please don't waste money on expensive tests. Get a full chemistry panel (blood work) before you do anything else. Those labs alone can, in most cases, determine FIP and the money saved can be used for treatment!
I DO hope that these legal meds will be affordable and lead to more options AND cured cats!
