I got asked, "Why does it always have to be you?" Because there's no one else stepping up.
I get told how to do things; how to care for or medicate or feed.... I've ALWAYS had cats and I'm 55 years old. I DON'T need unsolicited advice.
I've been told that I waste time and money on the unadoptable. Hope your family doesn't feel the same way when you get old and can't take care of yourself.
I do what I do because this is who I am. Every time I say I'm done fate tells me I'm not. How many people saw Andre and did nothing? How many overlook the beat up, bleeding cat and blow him off as someone else's problem?
I am doing what I can, working with what I got. I wouldn't be this way if other people would do their part but it's always someone else's problem. Don't even get me started about people adopting. They aren't! They want cute, little kittens. They want the right color/breed, etc. Then when that cute kitten grows up and pees on something because they aren't fixed because "I can't take his manhood" or "she needs to have a litter" and it's overwhelming I'M the one (and people like me) that have to save them from ignorance and street life!
