We had an incident yesterday.
Negan had actually crawled out of the kennel and holed up in a cubby of an old cat tree. I thought it was so cute! I let him stay because he needed a change of scenery. Later I went to get him out for meds and he became extremely aggressive. I was petting him to calm him and he attacked my hand. Lots of blood. I had to use my gloves to get him back to the kennel.
I called the vet to discuss the incident. My feeling is that he was out of his "safe space" and I made him feel threatened by reaching in. After he was back in the kennel he was fine. I was able to pet him and brush him and he was purring. This morning he is fine. Sitting in my lap purring and getting brushed.
I honestly don't know that I'm giving him the best. I've emailed a sanctuary that specializes in special needs. Maybe they can give advice. Maybe they can take him in. I'm not trying to just give him away. I only want what's best for him and if that's someone else my feelings have to be second.
For any of these cats I want only the best.
Be pawsome! Do pawsome! This is the way.
